“The most important thing a woman can have – next to talent, of course – is her hair stylist.”

– Joan Crawford

Salon Marsof

Owned by mother-daughter twosome Sofia and Maria Poulos, the mission of Salon Marsof is to serve clients in a comfortable, neighborhood-friendly environment, where they can relax, pamper themselves and leave feeling beautiful.

Sofia Poulos

When Sofia Poulos first began styling hair in Atlanta, the Farrah Fawcett look was all the rage. Women flocked into the small midtown salon where she first started to have Sofia work her feathering magic on their bangs. Since then, Sofia has seen all the latest trends on her clients – whether that’s the big Dallas-inspired hairdos of the 80s, the layered Rachel of the 90s, or the Justin Bieber boy-bangs of today.

Sofia was born in Athens, Greece and moved to the United Stated with her family as a teenager. A fan of the fun atmosphere of the community salons in Athens, she decided to become a stylist and trained in Boston before moving to Atlanta. Over the years Sofia has gained a following of loyal clients, whom she treats as her “extended family.”

Recreating the look and feel of the eclectic salons of her European youth, Sofia teamed up with her daughter, Maria, to offer clients the best combination of classic and hip, experience and innovation, all with a personal flair and commitment to service.

Maria Poulos

Truly a family business, Maria first started styling hair at the age of four when she’d pretend-cut her friends’ hair alongside her mother with the use of her “finger scissors.”  Following in her mother’s footsteps, Maria trained at the prestigious Paul Mitchell School in Atlanta.  Knowing that she wanted to serve her clients in the European tradition, Maria brings her fresh perspective, experience and energy to Salon Marsof.
